The World Harmony Foundation is proud to create programs which build partnerships between Global and Local Leaders with Students and Educators who encourage Peace and Environmental studies in schools world wide. Our Global Recycling for Peace and Harmony program creates Harmony Bells for Peace, which is the first of our Global Leadership Initiatives. With the Support of Global and Local Business Leaders who believe all people should live in a healthy, safe and clean environment, we hope to achieve our goals of preserving our planet for future generations.
Our future programs will mainly focus on the United Nations Millennium Development Goals that were addressed at the 2005 World Summit at the United Nations, from September 14–16, this was the largest gathering of world Leaders in history more than 100 Heads of State met to forge and action plan for promoting international security and for achieving the Millennium Development Goals by 2015.
At the Millennium Summit in September 2000 at the time the largest gathering
of World Leaders adopted the UN Millennium Declaration, committing their nations
to a new global partnership to reduce extreme poverty and by setting out a series
of time-bound targets, all with a deadline of 2015 that have become known as
the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs). These targets are to:
*Eradicate Extreme
Hunger and Poverty *Achieve Universal Primary Education *Promote Gender Equality
and Empower Women *Reduce Child Morality *Improve Maternal Health *Combat HIV/AIDS,
Malaria and other diseases *Ensure Environmental Sustainability *Develop a Global
Partnership for Development. There are only eight very important goals which
is not a long list, but there is a major amount of work to be done for these
goals to be met.
We will encourage Educators to provide curriculums for students which address the goals of the Millennium Declaration so Students can develop projects within their communities which will have a positive effect locally and globally. We will further encourage Global and Local Leaders to work together in partnership with those Students who have been involved with our programs and other initiatives that help in the building secure and safe environments for all people.
GLOBAL AND LOCAL BUSINESS LEADERSHIP
The support and funding of our programs from Global and Local Corporations is vital to the success of these partnerships. For instance, we will provide the containers for the students to deposit the recycled metal both from the students and from the Global and Local Leaders the containers with be transported back to the Master Bell Makers and
will be converted into Harmony Bells for Peace. Corporate support will ensure that the Harmony Bells will travel as Ambassadors of Peace to inspire all people and later be donated to Civic Centers, Schools and Hospitals around the world.
AWARDS FOR LEADERSHIP
The World Harmony Foundation and our Sponsors will host an Annual Luncheon
and a Gala Awards Dinner to acknowledge the commitments and accomplishments
of a number of Global and Local Leaders including Heads of State, Parliamentarians,
Mayors, Community and Business Leaders with Educators. At least two Students
Leaders will be given awards annually and each of these Students will in
addition receive a gift of $1,000 from the World Harmony Foundation. This acknowledgement is for
their remarkable Leadership in developing Partnerships with Global and
Local Leaders and for making their commitments Peace by participating in our programs, as well as
guiding their school’s participation in our Global Recycling for
Peace and Harmony program which creates Harmony Bells for Peace to raise Peace
and Environmental awareness within their own schools and Local communities.
